The hornets yesterday once again didn't take their chance when they were there to take. Just when you think things could get worse, they implode after and don't even fight to win a game of footy. morningside just ran rampant after half time and the hornets coach did nothing to stop it. He seemed too be more interested in making a world record in interchanges than in changing up the game plan. Smething has too be done here sooner rather than later, he has no clue3 whatsoever
ASPLEYS MASSIVE UPSET OVER MORNINGSIDE
On Saturday the aspley hornets pulled off the biggest upset in 10 years of the qafl. The hornets just ran and tackle and a heap of other better that mad this performance a brilliant display by the team and everyone involved in the day. The game started a tight hard fought game where there wasn’t a clear advantage to either side. After qtr time, Morningside got a bit of a jump and kicked a couple in a row and looked like they could run away with, while aspley kept missing sitters in the context of the game. Aspley really were pressuring them at every stoppage, but Morningside with Shelton racking up kick after kick, looked the better team/
After half time in the 3rd qtr, the game changed a bit and was a struggle and with aspley still missing easy goals it looked like Morningside would get up. Than things started to happen just after Nathan kinch was helped off with what looked concussion, but it might be a shoulder injury. Morningside lost all their drive off half back and the hornets could smell an upset in the making and they went into 3qtr time 12 points down.
The last qtr was a brilliant one for the hornets. They had the wind and they used it so well. They needed the first 2 and they got them in quick time. After that, there was no stopping them running a muck. 7 goals to nothing was the end result and it was a perfect display. Dylan Reid was given bog honors after the game and rightly deserves, he was outstanding and blanketing the best player in the comp at the moment. The new players were fantastic and they look like they have their feet under them set for a massive year.
Southport next down there will be a massive hurdle. If they play like they did this week. Who knows what will happen
