win against the bombers

On saturday the Hornets took on the Redland Bombers and the way the game started it looked like it would be a long day in the office for the hhornets. The bombers had set 2 men back in defence to start the game and it stopped the Hornets in their tracks and they could't get any penetration into their forward line and when the Bombers repelled the Hornets attack, they moved the ball quickly down from the back line to their forward line and kicked 4 un answered goals before the hornets could get the ball up forward again. After qtr time the match ebed and flowed and it looked like the game could go either way the, bryce carrol and dan roy started to rack up a heap of the ball around the ground and with matt shir presenting well up forward. the hornets clawed their way back into the game with a 4 goals to 2 qtr and the game was evenly ballanced at half time

After the qtr time break the game was a see sawing battle and anyone could win the game at that stage. With redlands start to win plenty of ball in the middle and driving forward at every opportunity, things started to look grim. the hornets stuck at it and wereonly 13 points down at 3 qtr time and still a big chance of knocking off the bombers. In the last qtr the Hornets took over the game and just out played and out muscled the bombers to win the game. it was an important for the team and the coach the boys sung the son with a bit of passion and it was a great day all round

Qld back in the winners circle

Qld took on tassie in the state game for this year on the weekend and really showed how many quality players there are in this league when they are put together in a rep game like this. The game started off slowly for the maroon when tassie jumped tham and had an early 3 goal lead with their midfield well on top. Qld rattled 4 unanswered goals and started to get on top in the middle and around the grounds. After qtr time qld asserted their power and ran riot. their midfield destroyed tassies and harder in the clinches and more skilled around the ground. qld kicked 18 goals to 8 after qtr time to run out 79 point winners and their were too many great players to name the best player on the park

lions keep padding up their stats on their way to another win

Sunday was another game where it could have happened but it didn’t for the hornets. They had plenty of opportunities to take the game away from the lions and they just fell over at the opportune moments the lions listed players were pretty good when it counted with cornelius kicking six from nearly every where on the park. Troy selwood was winning plenty of ball in the middle and he had plenty hel getting it

The hornets had a cuple of winners on the park but most were out played and they a fair way off the mark in this comp at the moment. They need 6 new players in the team just about and they are all key position players. A full forward is a must and a centre half forward as wll. But we will have to wait and see what the club will do at the end of the year when they have a new bunch of recruits coming into the club with a new coach
