EARLY SEASON LOOKING LIKE FOR THE nEAFL

I see a few people are starting to write off a few teams in the new NEAFL. I wouldn't be writing off a team like Mt Gravatt. They have quality players across the park and up the spine and they will definitely in the mix come september in my honest opinion. Last season they got off to a rough start and they were behind the 8 ball early and they came home with a wivering burst to make a run at the flag to be beaten by a red hot Southport at Southport. Morningside are going to have to adapt pretty quickly to the loss of players like Gough, Wilson and Connel and Hickey. 4 quality players that have left the club for retirement or playing at another club or moved on to other things in life. But like usual they still have plenty of quality players to fill the void that those players will leave. Aspley are looking to go up a notch this year and if they don't have a real crack at finals this year, it will be a big disappointment for the team. Especially with all the recruiting they have done the last 2 years and they have done some heavy recruiting and most of those players have been great. This year they have to play better to make finals

redlands have recruited well again this year and with the pick up of a few ex afl players, they should be strong and challenge the likes of southport and morningside for the spot in a grand final. But the worry is, will the coach do a solid job at leading this mob. Southport have been rather quiet and that's a bad sign for the rest of the competition in my opinion. Whe they are silent, they are deadly and I expect them to dominate this season. The thunder have been quiet as well, but have picked up a few players and the got a really big name in Andrew McLeod and he will be handy in the games he plays in. but their problem will be again traveling and can they win more than 3 games away from home, they will have to do that if they want to win the flag. Labrador the runners up from last year have lost a few and gained a few as well. New coach at the helm and I expect them to slide a bit but I wouldn't be surprised if they are up there with the leaders come finals time. Broadbeach have been on a recruiting mission my sources have told me and they picked up Jason eagle and a few others as well and their problem will be. Do they have the mental capacity to last the season out. I have my doubts about them and I reckon they will finish at the bottom of the ladder with the lions and the suns
