SUNS ARE GONE AND THE PANTHERS LIVE ON

Well that's that for the sun thisseason, on both and afl level and a neafl level. This first semifinal was a flat affair. Maybe it was because the game started at aridiculous time or it was just the way both teams played. For a finalyou would expect some high intensity in it. But really there wasbarely any. If it was a southport and morningside final it would be afiery and intense all the way through. The siders won the game in thesecond quarter. They eventually got on top in the middle, the usualsuspects were brilliant again for them. Lillico had a field day andno one could stop his running and linking up with his best mateshelton who just seems to get better with every game. Tom bell was ineverything. Winning plenty of the footy and kick a couple of handygoals. This kid is starting to pump up his chances of getting draftedin the very near future. Their forwards were unstopable with abeykicking 7 goals and mugavin chipping in with 2 and they put on aclinic. They are going to be hard to stop in the next few weeks.Their experience and skills will get them through tough patches, Iwouldn't want to face them in the grand final. They will face a firedup Mt Gravatt team looking to avenge their loss in the 09 grandfinal. The game should be a cracker

The first semi final is here and itshould be a good contest. The suns in their first year and firstfinals campaign up against final stalwarts in the panthers. The sunsare coming off a disappointing effort last week against the vultures,they had a 3 goal lead at half time and they put they cue in the racklike everyone thought they would and eventually got beaten by 10goals. The disappointing thing about the effort would have to be, thefact they really could have put them away and they only slotted 2behinds for the quarter in the third. But they put in a decent effortin the last to make things a tad bit more respectable. The panthersslugged ti out with the hornets for 3 quarters, but eventually ranaway with the game in the fourth with a 5 goal spurt early to put thehornets to bed. The panthers have been playing some great footy oflate. The older heads have come to the for, Nick Clark has arguablybeen their best player in the last month. His game last week wassuperb and his clean up work is crucial. The suns are struggling tofind player to fill the team, but their listed players are goodenough to cover these losses. Thanfully the league came to theirsenses somewhat. Moving the game from metricon to southport was asmart choice. We want this league to grow. Playing finals at aflvenues isn't going to help things. Morningsides experienced headswill show the way I reckon In this one. Lillico and Shelton mightjust have a field day. They have been pretty good lately and I expectthem to have good day. I reckon the panthers are going to win thisgame and win it by plenty
