THE FERALS V FERALS WON'T BE AS GOOD AS THE GAME SADLY

Oh what a battle we are going tohave tomorrow at fishermans road. The 2 best teams for the wholeseason are facing off in the premier division grand final. Noosa whohave gone a long just danderly, two weeks off and waited for thewinner of the prelim final to come through. Palm have made it to thegrand final the hard way. They have had to play 3 hardish finals tothere. This game is going to be one for the ages. If the rain staysaway we will see a tight contest. The lions would love a fast trackto just run and run all day. But the noosa boys love a bit of wetweather and the 2 wins they have had against the palmy boys, it hasbeen wet, well more like playing on a lake at noosa and when it wasdry. Palmy had a field day. It has been raining a bit up the coast,so I expect a wet track. As for the game. The game will always be wonin the midfield. Both teams midfields are so strong and wouldn't lookout of place in a NEAFL team. I reckon if palmys running brigade canget on top of the noosa hard nuts they might just get thepremiership. Players like Brauer, Matthew and Isles might have a sayin whether they can control the game. Those 3 are just class allround. Matthew won the B&F medal for the league and I expect himto have a big game. If the track is dryish, I think the palmy boyswill win the premiership by less than a kick. I also wouldn't besurprised if have to play another game to decide the premiership

A NIGHT THAT WILL LIVE IN MANY MEMORIES

What a count it was for the groganmedal. It went right down to the last round of the season. 2 worthywinners of the prestigious award though. In the games I saw ofsouthport play. Matty Payne was clearly their best players and theworry for him was would his team win enough games for him to getenough votes to win it. Well he polled in a lot of games where histeam was beaten and shows the class of the player of the competition. The other player the shared the award was Cameron Ilet. He has been astandout player in the qafl for the last 3 years and this year he wasfinally rewarded with his fine exploits. The vote count was close allnight. There was 4 clear cut contender vying for the medal, but only3 were eligible to win it. Zorko was up on top of the leader boardall night but finished a vote behind Ilet and Payne. But the highestvote getter was Micah Buchanan, he finished the night on 25 votes 2ahead of the winners. It was a shock to all I am suspecting. But hehas had such a stellar season and it's not surprising he would be uptheir with the winner. In a 6 round period he polled 14 votes andthat's where excelled. He got his last best on ground vote on a dayhe got knocked out and spent the night in hospital. He is a gunfootballer and aspley have to everything to keep him. The ressiesmedal was won by Peter Labi of Mt Gravatt. The rising star award waswon by RossTungatalum a good young forwardfor the thunder. There wasn't many surprises in the team of the yearwith Cameron Ilet named captain

The qld team of the year provedagain why everyone thinks the whole thing is a farce and thereshouldn't be a team picked. Again I have to question what games arethese guys watching. It's time they dump this team, no other leaguesdoe a team thing every year like this why the hell should we

WIDE OPEN FIELD FOR THE GROGAN MEDAL

Tonight's grogan medal is wide openaffair, where anyone can win it and the way this year has gone. Abolter from the blue could win this medal. There has been so manystandouts and really anyone from every team can win the medal. Wecould see a three way tie for the first time since 1992 where DarrylBourke, jason Cotter and Dean Warren finished the count in a threeway tie or we could see a player finish with the most but isineligible and can't win the medal. It should be an intriguing nightand the three to 5 players I think that can win the medal.

Matty Payne who is a perennial votegetter and has had a fantastic season. Should just about be up thereall night long, but seeing his team lost 7 of it's first 9 games. Hemight not get the early votes needed to win this

Dayne zorko just another outstandingseason for tinker. Been broadbeaches best player by some way. I thinkhe is a real threat to take out the medal

Robbie copeland has had his bestseason since joining the hornets. He has lead by the way for theyoung stingers. He can win it. But team mates might just take votesoff him

chris smith. Been consitant allseason long. I think he is the real smokie out of the pack. Hisfirst game of the season will get him 3 votes from the umpires andthat is for sure

the player that I think might justpoll more votes than anyone is is Miccah Buchanan from aspley. He hasbeen a standout for the hornets. He would be a chance oif winning ifhe didn't get a 2 game suspension but so be it

my tip is a Dayne Zorko, Matty Paynetie and it should be cracking vote
