The Madden Curse has struck again. Troy Polamalu of the defending Super Bowl Champions, Pittsburgh Steelers, went down with an apparent knee injury in the second quarter of the first regular season game of the season. ESPN is reporting that the Safety suffered a sprained MCL on his left knee and will be out three to six weeks.
Starting with Madden NFL ’99, NFL stars brace the cover of the popular football series. Every player that has appeared on the cover usually end up injured of having a bad season.
For Madden NFL 10, EA Sports tried to mix up a formula a bit by having two cover boys, the aforementioned Troy Polamalu and Larry Fitzgerald, wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals.
With Troy Polamalu down, could the Madden Curse strike Larry Fitzgerald next? We might find out soon when the Arizona Cardinals takes on the San Francisco 49ers this weekend.
