B.J. Raji Contract Update & More News

Green Bay Packers rookie DT B.J. Raji signed a 5 year $28.5 Million contract with an $18.5 Million in guarantees. Raji will report to camp and will likely not play in Saturday's Preseason opener vs the Cleveland Browns at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI.

New York Giants QB Eli Manning has officially signed his 6 year $97.5 Million contract extension which includes an added guarantee of $35 Million making him the highest paid player in the NFL.

According to a source the Cincinnati Bengals made an offer to QB Michael Vick before he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles - they offered Vick a 2 year deal worth $2.3 Million.

Tom Brady in yesterday's preseason opener vs the Eagles looked very sharp during the times he played. He looked like his old self. He got considerable playing time and threw 2 td passes.

Andy Reid said that he has some ideas for Michael Vick in his offense.

Rookie DE Aaron Maybin of the Bills continues to hold out due to contract negotiations.

Rookie WR Michael Crabtree of the 49ers continues to hold out due to contract negotiations and is still threatening to re-enter the NFL Draft next year. Apparently he does not understand that if he does that it will make him look bad and he wont be picked in the top 3 rounds and will get even less money. Idiot.

Rookie OT Andre Smith of the Bengals also continues to hold out due to contract negotiations.

These few rookies need to get their asses into camp - they are missing out on very valuable time with training camp and preseason - hitting, tackling, catching, film sessions, meetings, working out in the weight room, getting to know teammates, building chemistry, etc. I realize that it is a business and its not smart to risk getting hurt without a contract - I get that - but these guys need to sign their deals so they can begin playing and working on their careers and quicker they get into camp the better off they will be.
