I am convinced that the New Orleans Saints will in the NFC South.
We already know the Saints offense is GREAT, they have not lost anything from that. The problem has been their defense.
Now the Saints go and draft CB Michael Jenkins in the first round, they sign free agent safety Darren Sharper, they signed free agent CB Jabari Greer, they were able to keep MLB Johnathan Vilma, and safety Roman Harper is healthy.
Also don't discount last years former first round pick Cedric Ellis from USC. He is a big time player, and DTs often struggle their rookie year. Year 2 Ellis now knows the system, nothing is new to him, and he should have his technique down. I look for him to have a big year, and anchor that Saints dline.
The Saints also brought in new defensive coordinator Greg Williams. He is a former head coach, and a very good coordinator. I think he could make the best out of this defense, and get them from laughable to respectable.
With that high powered offense, and a very improved defense the Saints will be very tough to beat in 2009.
I think the Saints are an 11-5 or maybe even 12-4 win team. They will win the NFC South book it.
I add this to the predictions page. If you have predictions of your own, please make them there.
